Dr. Dirk Zetzsche, LL.M., serves as Professor of Financial Law at the University of Luxembourg, holding the prestigious ADA Chair in Financial Law (inclusive finance) since March 2016. His extensive research portfolio centers on FinTech, RegTech, CorpTech, alternative investment funds, inclusive finance, and corporate law.

 

He has provided advisory services to numerous esteemed organizations and governmental bodies globally, including the Financial Stability Board, European Commission, European Parliament, ESMA, and various national governments. He also serves as an independent board member for regulated investment companies, with a focus on Fintech, cross-border private equity and venture capital. Additionally, Dr. Zetzsche is a member of ESMA’s standing Consultative Working Group on Financial Innovations, demonstrating his commitment to shaping regulatory discourse in the financial industry.

 

Having authored over 200 publications, covering a broad spectrum of Fintech topics, including distributed ledger technology/blockchain, digital identity, regulatory sandboxes, data-driven finance, crowdfunding, initial coin offerings, and central-bank-linked cryptocurrencies, etc., Dr. Zetzsche recently collaborated with Professors Ross P. Buckley and Douglas W. Arner on a distinguished work published by Cambridge University Press. This publication delves deeply into the convergence of technology, finance, law, and regulation.
